Why take this journey?

We live in a world where increasingly our minds, our bodies, and our spirits are taxed by the busy-ness that has become a feature of our modern day lifestyles. People are looking to experience in their lives more peace, a greater sense of personal power over their circumstances, and a sense of well-being, fulfillment and enthusiasm. Many of us move through life weighed down, not accessing the joy that could change the way we experience this ‘being human.’

Being human we are made up of different layers: our physical layer, our body, the ‘vehicle’ we ride through this life; our mind and intellect, the collector and discern-er of the information and stimuli we constantly receive; and our spirit, or ‘energetic self,’ the source of our inspiration and creativity, that connects us to the divine aspects of ourselves and, ultimately, all others. How this is understood and experienced will vary from person to person. One thing, however, remains consistent for all of us: each of these layers – mind, body, and spirit – must be nurtured and nourished for us to experience vitality and wholeness.

This is the purpose of the 21 day journey you are invited to take. The itinerary is straightforward but detailed and asks something critical of you: to show up. Commit to this journey and see it through to its end and you may come away feeling as though this is not an end at all, but rather the beginning of a new way of living, a new way of being.

The Itinerary

Journey to Vitality is 21 days of nourishment for your mind, your body, and your spirit. In preparation you are asked to first complete a Personal Assessment to help you uncover the areas in which you feel you are lacking in vitality so that a customized itinerary can be created for you in consultation with Miriam.

Second, you are asked to use your Personal Assessment to define your intentions and create for your own benefit a Personal Success Promise, or sadhana, to help keep you journeying in the direction of your choosing.

Finally, you are invited to join a private, online group of others taking this journey at this time. Daily accountability to this group is one of the aspects of these 21 days that can help you to bring mindfulness to your choices for your body, to your thoughts, and to your spirit, and that will help you to honour your Personal Success Promise.

In the first two weeks of the Journey we bring more awareness to how we are nourishing and nurturing our body and mind. We do this in an easy way with a focus on “adding” rather than “taking away.” We introduce:

  • DAILY MINDFULNESS EXERCISES AND MEDITATION, INCLUDING PERSONALIZED AND PRIVATE GUIDED MEDITATION
  • "CLEAN-LIVING" GUIDELINES
  • RESTORATIVE SLEEP HABITS
  • THE ART OF "WITNESSING"
  • DAILY PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

The third week, while continuing to practice conscious choice making for our body and mind, we begin to shift our attention further inward to begin daily study of The Seven Spiritual Laws as developed by Dr. Deepak Chopra. While we continue with our established practice we introduce:

  • DAILY GUIDED MEDITATION AND REFLECTION ON THE SPIRITUAL LAW OF THE DAY

Journey to Vitality asks that you commit to this experience with the intention of showing up for each of the 21 days. Check-in each morning, incorporate the mindfulness opportunities for the day, and update a mindfulness log each evening. Some mornings you may feel ready to embrace the day’s opportunities with an open heart and an open mind, and on others you may meet some inner resistance. Just continue to show up. This is part of the practice. In so doing you allow the journey to take you from where you are, to wherever it is you envision being.
